There is a method to the madness that are the names of the sponsorship levels. Though Bosch is from the Netherlands, "Garden of the Earthly Delights" resides at the Museo del Prado in Madrid, Spain, where he is referred to as El Bosco. Strawberries were thought to symbolize glorious temptation and transience. They are just one of the many fruits depicted in the painting, the middle panel of which has historically been referred to as a playground of hedonism and corruption. The flying gryphon, a legendary creature with the body of a lion and the head and wings of an eagle, and the walking fish are two of our favorite images in the work. They are prime examples of creative playfulness and possibility.
