ELIGIBILITY
Women artists residing in Texas who have not had a solo exhibition at Women & Their Work within the past eight years are eligible. Recently created work in all media will be considered. Artists must be able to exhibit their work by May, 2013.  We strongly encourage artists to create new work for exhibition at Women & Their Work.  We will choose artists to premier in 6-week solo shows occurring between May, 2013 and March, 2014.

CRITERIA
Women & Their Work seeks artists who create inventive, high-caliber contemporary art that breaks new ground or proposes innovative approaches to form and content.  Selections are based on an evaluation of the work you submit; we look for a strong, consistent aesthetic vision.  We encourage selected artists to create new work; no work that has previously been exhibited in Austin will be accepted for exhibition but may be used to demonstrate capability in your portfolio. The work in the application should demonstrate that you are capable in vision and scope of creating a powerful solo show that commands the 1,700 square foot gallery.

APPLICATION GUIDELINES
1) 2-D & 3-D Images, Videos
Applicants should upload ten images of 2-D or 3-D work. If you wish to add details or installation views, you may combine them within one image (create a paneled, or composite jpg).

For video art, you must upload a still image for each video piece.  This is needed for the online application to work and for us to not skip viewing any pieces. The panel will view 3 minutes of each video; longer videos may or may not be seen in their entirety. Please don’t include promotional videos or interviews.  You have 2 options:

- Upload a still photo jpg and video title for each video. Include a link:  to youtube, vimeo or website where videos are viewable. Include: title, medium, date & run time for each work.
- Upload a still photo jpg and video title for each video. Include a list with: title, medium, date & run time for each work. Mail W&TW a labeled DVD to: Artists Advisory Panel, Women & Their Work, 1710 Lavaca, Austin, TX 78701. Unfortunately, DVDs cannot be returned.

To be considered for a solo show, applicants must be women and Texas residents. An artist advisory panel (made of staff, art professionals from around the state and past solo artists) evaluates the applicants on the strength of their work and then selects the individuals for exhibition. Thanks for your interest in Women & Their Work.
