These paintings started out as conversations. They are less about music itself and more about the significance of music as a landmark in our lives. I've made a visual list based on the answers to my question, "What are your top five favorite records?"
Often, I'm given revised and labored over lists. Questioning your favorite records is similar to soul searching. These paintings come from these lists, the conversations, as well as my own personal collection of favorites. The album cover is a point on a time line and accesses memories of who we were and what we were doing at that time. This work is a testament to our personal soundtracks.
